Crossroads celebrated its 4th Annual Crossroads C5 New England Golf Classic at the Black Rock Country Club in Hingham, MA. With 109 guests that day and the support of more than 30 sponsors we raised over $235,000 to support Crossroads’ work with under-resourced, Massachusetts youth.
All of the proceeds from this event directly impact the lives of over 1,000 under-resourced youth living in Massachusetts. Thanks to our long-standing partnership with the Rodman Ride for Kids, every dollar we raise through this event receives an additional 5% matching gift!
The day began with a lively round of golf. Competition was fierce, and the winners had to dig deep to pull ahead. The winners of the 4th Annual Crossroads C5 New England Golf Classic are: Brendan Brazel, Mike DeFeo, Jim D’Isidoro and Paul Leblanc. Great job and big thanks to everyone who participated!
Following the round of golf was the speaker portion of the day. Reggie Jeudy, a current C5 Leader in his junior year of high school, shared his Crossroads journey with the room. Growing up in poverty, Reggie credits the relationships and experiences he has had with Crossroads for keeping him on the path to success:
“Before Crossroads I had never even considered my future. Thanks to everything I have experienced at Crossroads, now I do and I have a plan. I plan to be the first in my family to attend college and earn a degree in Civil Engineering and use the degree to fulfill my dreams of being a carpenter or electrician. I would like to dedicate my career to building and fixing homes in poverty-stricken areas to decrease homelessness and reduce crime and drug rates.”
“I will use the life lessons learned at Crossroads to inspire those around me and to bring others on my journey to change to world for the better.”
The success of the event is the result of the hard work of the Golf Classic Committee, led by Crossroads Trustees Steve Stewart and Tim Carroll. 2016 Golf Classic Committee – Brendan Brazel, Mort Fearey, Peter Dalrymple, Sharon Fownes and Tom Davidson.
“At Crossroads a large part of what we aspire to instill in our young people is a sense of giving back. You can see that in Reggie, and we see it everyday with the inspiring youth we serve,” says Crossroads President Deb Samuels. “This year’s Golf Classic has been an enormous success thanks to the amazing work of our Golf Classic Committee and we could not be more grateful as their hard work will allow us to inspire even more young people to succeed, and help others succeed along the way.”
