Thank You For a #SummerDoneRight!
While it may have felt like a #SummerDoneQuick, it was definitely another #SummerDoneRight here at Crossroads! Our incredible staff and leadership at Camp Wing, Camp Lapham, and Camp Mitton went above and beyond to ensure that Summer 2019 was inspiring, informative, and fun! It’s sad to see the summer come to an end, but that just gives us more time to make sure that Summer 2020 is the #BestSummerYet!
Summer 2019 Camp Highlights
- For the first time in decades, Camp Wing was able to provide shop and woodworking classes for all of our participants, thanks in huge part to equipment donated by Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association and our amazing shop teacher, counselor, and former camper Jasmanie Gonzales.
- At Camp Lapham/C5, teens focused on developing and refining their leadership skills both at camp and on the campus of Stonehill College during their ACT Now presentations on social injustices. Others challenged themselves mentally and physically while on trek in unfamiliar environments such as Seattle and Wyoming, while our rising high school juniors devoted an entire week to getting a head-start on their postsecondary plans during the Road to College Tour throughout New England Colleges and Universities.
- Finally, at Camp Mitton, our young people spent time getting to know themselves, their staff, and their fellow campers better through events and activities like the Mitton Bike Trek, M-Games, and of course swimming in the pond and playing in the sand on a hot summer day.
Be sure to continue following Crossroads on social media (@crossroads4kids) during the school-year to see all of the amazing things our youth and teens are doing while not at camp!
