On a chilly Saturday morning, May 7, we welcomed nearly 200 volunteers to Camp Wing for our inaugural Crossroads Community Action Day. We are so grateful to all who came out to help us prepare for a return to full capacity summer programming at Camp Wing and ensure our bright, young people have access to opportunities for exploration, growth, and discovery.
As Camp Wing Co-Directors, Pat Cleary and Elvira Teixeira, noted during their morning remarks, at the heart of the Crossroads’ experience is a belief that we have a responsibility to care for one another, our spaces, and our larger community, and that collectively, our potential to do good is limitless. Community Action Day was the embodiment of this sentiment as we joined together in service of the amazing young people who spend their summers at Camp Wing. That is what community action is all about.
We hope you will join us next year for our second annual Community Action Day on Saturday, May 20!
